Goldberg Variationen oder eine schlaflose Nacht

Who does not know the famous “Goldberg Variations” by Johann Sebastian Bach? And who doesn’t know those sleepless nights, when thoughts buzz through our minds and mosquitoes buzz around our heads, it’s too hot or too cold under the blanket and thirst or hunger drives us back into the kitchen?
In “Goldberg Variations or A Sleepless Night” the dance company bo komplex leads the audience in the choreography of Bärbel Stenzenberger in a poetic and humorous way through scenes, fears and dreams of such a night. Driven by the music of the Goldberg Variations and merging with the highly virtuoso version by Martin Stadtfeld, Stefanie Schwimmbeck and Olaf Reinecke experience the weal and woe of a night in this “dance comic”, which certainly no one has ever experienced in this form before and no one wants to experience…

 Press comments

„It used to be a wonderfully light-footed piece here, in which he reminded me of Buster Keaton, in some silly scenes and I liked the wigs for a change. The light-footed muse always has a hard time being taken seriously, but the premiere audience, I met a lady at the bar who had found her way to the bread factory for the first time, and she wasn’t the only one who rewarded the two dancers and the choreographer with long lasting applause. If there was a real scout at the Bonn Opera, this production would be invited to the chamber stage in the Opera House. Perhaps a pianist would make it even more fun for the subscribers”
